Classic vehicle

Back to the 70s.

50 years and yet still young – the green LPS 2032 from Hamprechts.

The model series.

LPS 2032 – this is the type designation of the three-axle semitrailer tractor, which has been on the road since 1971 with the new V10 with 230 kW (320 hp). The OM 403 remained the heavy-duty trucks' engine until the end of the LP series (1975).

However, the end of the model series didn't consign the two steered axles on three-axle semitrailer tractors to history: they are now also available in the successors of the New Generations.

The vehicle.

Rolf Hamprecht first became aware of the LPS 2032 during his training in a Mercedes‑Benz workshop, as he was repairing the transmission of a vehicle from this series. "He liked the truck so much that from that moment on, we were constantly on the lookout for one", says Rolf’s son Tobias Hamprecht, who soon became a fan of the model series too. In 2019, that day finally came: in Paderborn, a collector sold exactly the semitrailer tractor that the Hamprechts wanted.

"The previous owner had completely rebuilt the vehicle. New engine, new cab... only the frame was the same", says Tobias Hamprecht. The truck was in great condition. When the Hamprechts bought the truck and brought it home to Künzelsau in Baden-Württemberg, it had only driven 272 kilometres. Now, the speedometer of the green 2032 reads just over 4,000 kilometres. The truck has gone on exciting excursions like the Germany tour for historic commercial vehicles.
